Hazard Management

Effective hazard management relies on frequent inspections, proactive reporting, and preventative maintenance

Safety Topic
Hazard Managment

The Hazard Management & Risk Assessment system includes identifying hazards, assessing risks, implementing and monitoring hazard controls.

Tools like FLHAs, JSAs, Stop & Think Hazard Management System, safety audits, and equipment inspections ensure risks are managed effectively. .

Taking action is critical“See it, Own it.”

To mitigate risks, use these five control methods in order of effectiveness:

  1. Elimination
  2. Substitution
  3. Engineering Controls
  4. Administrative Controls
  5. Personal Protective Equipment

Effective hazard management relies on frequent inspections, proactive reporting, and preventative maintenance.

During a job, changes to the scope of work are common. It is crucial to discuss the new objectives, assess any new hazards, and re-evaluate existing controls to ensure they remain effective.

Hazard Identification

Identifying hazards or unsafe situations is the first step in hazard management. the Stop & think Management System  provide hazard awareness.

Hazard Assessment

The second step is assessing the risk to develop appropriate control measures.  Administrative tool such as an FLHA is used to document and communicate hazards.

Hazard Controls

Implementing an effective Hazard Controls requires monitoring to ensure safety of personal equipment, client property facility and the environment

Stop & Think Risk Assessment

Elimination
Remove the hazard entirely is the first step in the Hierarchy Of Controls

Substitution
Replace the hazard with a safer alternative (e.g., purging hazardous gases).

Engineering Controls
Use equipment design, safeguards and safety devices is the third step in the Hierarchy Of Controls

Administrative Controls
Apply training, policies, and procedures to ensure safe operations.is the fourth step in the Hierarchy Of Controls

Personal Protective Equipment
Use protective gear (PPE) to minimize exposure or injury.is the last but crucial step in the Hierarchy Of Controls.

Stop & Think

Before starting a Task, ask yourself these key questions:

  • What could go wrong?
  • Has anything changed?
  • How bad could it be?
  • Am I physically and mentally ready?

Assigning Controls

Assign trained individuals of your crew the tasks or activities required to implement and monitor the controls ensure ensuring safe operations, quality services and improved employee training and competency

See it, Own it

whether addressing the hazard yourself or seeking support to ensure everyone’s safety. This approach follows the principle of “You see it, you own it.”  Follow through and ensure communication of the hazard are recognized, understood and controlled

Monitoring Hazard controls

Inspections
Pre-Job, Pre-Use and Job-Site Inspections are crucial components for Monitoring Hazard Controls.

Inspections

Inspect tools and equipment before the job to catch issues early. Test equipment on-site to ensure safe operation. Regularly inspect the job site, tools, and processes during the task to maintain safety.

Proactive Reporting

Identifying hazards helps implement effective controls. Reporting near misses highlights potential risks, while QC and maintenance concerns address issues that could lead to incidents. Recognizing safety leaders encourages a culture of safety and continuous improvement.

Preventative Maintenance

Regular maintenance, repairs, and inspections ensure equipment operates safely. Unsafe equipment must be reported and removed for repair by qualified personnel.

Pre-Job Tailgate Meeting

Conduct this meeting at the onset of the job, as the scope of work changes or at any time someone does not understand their task; to review SOPs, FLHAs and or JSAs

Hazard Assessment

Complete a new hazard assessment every time there is a change in the scope of work, change in workers (shift change), change in worksites, and change in equipment or processes.

Regular Inspections

Regularly inspect the site, the equipment, tools, and processes to maintain safety throughout.  Ensure all hazard Controls Implemented, remain effective

Coiled Tubing Services

Titanium Energy Services provides reliable quality services with innovative tools and equipment for effective results.

Integrated Foam Clean Out Solutions

running coiled tubing into the wellbore using environmentally friendly solvents to remove sand, wax, proppant and other debris from the wellbore

Integrated Clean Out Solutions

running coiled tubing into the wellbore using environmentally friendly solvents and N2 to remove sand, from the wellbore

Integrated Mill Out Solutions

running coiled tubing into the wellbore with milling bottomhole tools (BHA) to remove bridge plugs, fac ports, cement, or casing deformations

Integrated Drill Out Solutions

running coiled tubing into the wellbore with drilling bottomhole tools (BHA) to obstruction or casing deformations

Through Tubing Cleanout

running coiled tubing into the production string to remove sand, wax, proppant and other debris from the tubing

Abandonment Solutions

Running wireline and tools into the wellbore to temporary or permanently abandon or shut in wells at the end of their life cycle or that have become uneconomical to maintain

E-Coil RTD

Running the Resistance Temperature Detector Tool into the designated adjacent wellbore with coiled tubing paired with the MGT directional drilling tool in drilling operations.

CBM Fracturing

N2 is sometimes used in lower pressure formation during frac to energize the formation. This helps with fluid flow back post frac and degreases the amount of fluid required to frac.

Service Capabilities

Titanium family consist of nearly 200 people across our intervention service branches.  Our average experience is over 5 years per person. Titanium is capable of R&D of advanced tubing technologies, development of in well tools, as well as on-site operations.  Titanium offers a full set of engineering services and has applied these technologies throughout Canada.
