Training & Competency

At Titanium Energy Services, we are committed to providing comprehensive training and developing the competency of our workforce.

Training focuses on equipping employees with the necessary skills and knowledge to perform their roles effectively. It begins immediately with company onboarding, safety orientation, and transportation compliance awareness courses. Training continues throughout employment with mandatory industry certification courses, which must be renewed every 3–5 years to ensure ongoing compliance and up-to-date knowledge.

Competency, on the other hand, refers to an employee’s ability to apply their training practically and demonstrate the required skills in real-world settings. While training builds foundational knowledge, competency proves that knowledge can be applied safely, effectively, and confidently on the job.

Titanium Energy Services ensures competency through a combination of:

  • Computer-Based Trainings (CBTs),  reinforce technical and procedural awareness and knowledge
  • On-the-Job Training (OJT), where employees apply skills in real operational environments under supervision.

Our competency-based training approach emphasizes practical application and measurable outcomes. It ensures that employees are not only trained but also capable of performing tasks to the highest safety and performance standards required by the industry.

CSO Certification

The CSO is aimed at new workers in the energy industry. It introduces workers from all sectors to safe work practices and incorporates Energy Safety Canada’s 10 Life Saving Rules, which are based on addressing the most at-risk behaviors.

Life Saving Rules

A common set of Life Saving Rules establishes a consistent approach in the prevention of serious injuries and fatalities, which enables the standardization of a common safety orientation to reduce redundancy.

Accountability

Supervisors are primarily accountable to the Product Line Manager for ensuring the development and competency of the operators under their supervision. Supervisors play a critical role in delivering high-quality services by actively guiding, training, and mentoring operators within their assigned product line and related services. Your ability to coach, mentor, and inspire operators under your direction is critical to achieving operational excellence.

Responsibilities

Supervisors are responsible for providing structured on-the-job training that focuses on developing operators’ skills, efficiency, precision, and overall job performance. Every task and interaction should emphasize a commitment to operational excellence and continuous improvement. Safety must be at the forefront of all training activities and operational decisions, ensuring that operators understand and consistently apply safe work practices in all situations.

QHSE Expectations
